Why do you choose to be part of Semonin?
I was with ERA Real Estate for more than 25 years, and when my broker retired, I came to Semonin through a personal friendship with Semonin’s President & CEO Brad Devries and his family. I stay because of the great people and the great programs. Everything to be successful is here at my fingertips. Semonin and their Marketology department are always creating new, exciting ideas and products that are way beyond my expectations.
What do you do to stay up-to-date/knowledgeable about the real estate industry?
I always strive to improve daily. I do this through classes and programs, such as Ninja and Buffini, and I also have a business coach. I constantly listen to podcasts—I’m a podcast junkie!
What did you do before you began working in real estate?
Before I became a REALTOR®, I was a stay-at-home mom, and I helped my husband with his business.
Are you involved in any trade/civic or community associations?
Lots! I’m a member of the Building Industry Association of Greater Louisville, where I’m also on the Board of Directors. I’m involved with Youthbuild, which helps young people learn construction skills to help build affordable housing, as well as lots of programs at church.
My immediate family: I married my best friend, George, and we have three sons. They are married to wonderful wives, and we have eight awesome grandkids.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my grandkid and my two sisters, playing softball and pickleball and watching the University of Louisville Cards.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
“Always work harder on yourself. Always strive to grow daily.” What is your favorite book/type of book? The Bible, of course, but any personal growth book. I love “The Strangest Secret” by Earl Nightingale, which teaches how to live a peaceful, cheerful, successful life.
What is your favorite movie/type of movie?
“The Notebook.” It is so touching to see people really love someone and go to all lengths to show it. I really believe in LOVE, and I am blessed to have that type love in my marriage.
What is your favorite song/type of music?
“I Can Only Imagine” by Mercy Me. It was my mom’s favorite before she passed away. Now it is my ringtone on my cell phone, so I think of her every time it rings.
If you could wave a magic wand, what one thing would you most like to change in the world?
I would help young people realize early, while still in school, that they can do anything they want, if they can dream it, and that they can train their minds to make right choices.
What are two or three items on your Bucket List?
I want to take my entire family to the Grand Canyon and hike the Vail Mountain together.
If you could have dinner with anyone, living or deceased, who would it be?
My mom. She was my hero. I sure miss her.

I have control of my thoughts, and I am in control of how I think. Don’t blame circumstances, if you want change. Be involved, and make it happen.
