In what year did you begin working in the real estate industry as a REALTOR®? February 1st, 2016
Why do you like working in the real estate industry? I love helping people! I have always had a passion for teaching, coaching, and mentoring people. From my military background to college classmates, and now real estate ... I guess having a servant’s heart is the foundation of my 'why'.
In what year did you become affiliated with Semonin Realtors®? 2019
Why do you choose to affiliate your business with Semonin? Semonin is simply amazing. This company is perfectly aligned with my character and values. They share my passion for leading, teaching and serving. I simply could not have found a better place in which to work than Semonin Realtors®. The energy level is always positive.
What do you do to stay up-to-date/knowledgeable about the real estate industry? Semonin's world-class statistical analysis, business meetings, and educational experiences are key. Also, as a Board Member for VAREP, Veteran centric training keeps me highly educated in the VA home loan. By staying involved, I am able to keep myself at the forefront of the current market, legal and legislative agendas, and other real estate-related topics.
What did you do before you began working in real estate? I worked in the corrugated packaging industry as a Safety & Quality Manager for 25 years and have been in the Kentucky Army National Guard for 10 years.
Are you involved in any trade/civic or community organizations? If yes, please explain. I am the Community Outreach Director for VAREP (Veteran's Association of Real Estate Professionals) and am also involved with VCAL (Veteran's Community Alliance of Louisville).
Who is your immediate family? I am a husband and father of two—a 5-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time? My free time is spent hiking with the family or wrestling with the kids (and losing) on the floor. Our backyard is our haven...with numerous neighborhood kids, our favorite place is right at home!
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? The greatest gift you have to give is yourself. I make an effort to be present in people's lives. Whether it's giving undivided attention to my kiddos or actively listening to my clients, I strive to always be in the moment.
What is your favorite book/type of book? Why? I enjoy reading about our military history. As a Soldier, I try to learn from our past to apply lessons learned to future operations.
What is your favorite movie/type of movie? Why? My favorite type of movie is about military history. I want to see the human side of war and see the struggles of people who went before us. Conflict is violent, and I think it helps to realize how important it is to avoid it as much as possible.
What is your favorite song/type of music? Why? I have really started to enjoy classical and jazz music, mostly because it's soothing and doesn't distract me while I work.
If you could wave a magic wand, what one thing would you most like to change in the world? I would erase hatred. It causes so much pain and hurt. We would all be better off if we spent more time loving each other.

If you could have dinner with anyone, living or deceased, who would it be? Why? My dad, one more time. He was my role model and best friend.
What is your favorite word? Why? Love.
What is your least favorite word? Why? I don't know...I try not to focus on the negative because what you focus on, expands.
Do you have a motto/words to live by? If yes, what? Treat people how THEY want to be treated! (The Platinum Rule)
Do you have a favorite quote? If yes, what is it? 'Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.’ – Winston Churchill
