In what year did you begin working in the real estate industry as a REALTOR®? 1977 Why do you like working in the real estate industry? Every day is different. I enjoy helping people. In what year did you become affiliated with Semonin Realtors®? 1998 Why do you choose to affiliate your business with Semonin? I used to own and manage a Re/Max franchise, but I really enjoyed the selling aspect of real estate the most. When I decided to focus on selling, I affiliated with Semonin because I wanted to align my business with a locally owned company. What do you do to stay up-to-date/knowledgeable about the real estate industry? I work on my business every single day. I stay involved, and I have learned a lot by purchasing several rental properties. What did you do before you began working in real estate? I was a high school teacher for three years. I taught business math, consumer education and typing. Who is your immediate family? I grew up in a family of seven children. My dad died in 1998, but Mom is still with us. Five of my siblings and I live in Kentucky. I was married for 30 years, and I have two adult children. One son is married with two infants, and the other is single. What do you enjoy doing in your free time? What free time? I attend and watch college sports and some triple A baseball. There’s always yard work and visiting with my mom, too. What is the best piece of advice you've ever received? “The harder you work, the luckier you get.” What is your favorite book? “The Millionaire Next Door: The Surprising Secrets of America’s Wealthy” by Thomas Stanley. It identifies the seven common traits that show up again and again among those who have accumulated wealth. What is your favorite movie? “A Few Good Men.” What is your favorite song/type of music? "I Wish They All Could Be California Girls" by The Beach Boys. If you could wave a magic wand, what one thing would you most like to change in the world? There would be no more war. What are two or three items on your Bucket List? I want to retire in good health and never be a financial burden on my children. If you could have dinner with anyone, living or deceased, who would it be? My Dad. What is your favorite word? "Love." As the song says, “What the World Needs Now is Love, Sweet Love.” What is your least favorite word? The F word. Do you have a motto/words to live by? “Treat people the way you want to be treated.” Do you have a favorite quote? “Live and Let Live.”
